Public Transit

All buses will be low-floor buses. While the wheel well will be in the bus, and reduce the number of seats, this will make it much easier for elederly, disabled, and very young children to get on the bus. All buses will have the same fare policy. You board the bus through the front, pay your fare, and it is encouraged to exit through the rear of the bus so people can board while you are exiting. There will be a push to have an all electric fleet of buses to reduce the amount of petroleum fuels that is used. This that still require fuel will use an ethanol diesel fuel to reduce demand.

Bus systems will be encourage to use a trunk and branch system. This will mean fewer primary routes, and more community routes. For example, if there was a place called Frankstown, and the East Busway ran through Frankstown, a local bus might connect the further edges of Fransktown, and deliver the passengers to the Easy Busway where there will be a primary bus that will pick them up. This will reduce demand on the bus fleet, and provide for a more consistent system that is also more reliable.

In every county, there will be 4 busways. This will include the East Busway, North Busway, South Busway, and West Busway. All busways will have a station for most if not all communities they are connected to. This will allow a straight access for the county line to the central city of the county in a quick, and reliable means of getting there. The busways do not have traffic lights with stopping only at busway stations. The busway is limited to public transit services from the local transit authority, and emergency vehicles only. Anyone caught on the busway will be charged a $250 fine and can get a point tacked on to their license. 5 points will call for a suspended license.

In addition to busways, some communities will have bus lanes. Bus lanes will run along the sidewalk side of a road, or street. There will be stations at major stops where people will be able to board and exit at. For example, a bus lane might run through Kaldus University – therefore giving a means for students to make it to school. Bus Lanes are identified red on the lane, and will say buses only. The only other vehicle allowed on bus lanes will be emergency vehicles. As with busways, anyone not authorized to use a bus lane will be fined $250, and have a point on their license.
